Cars in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police reported they were alerted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the substance was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

A senior representative said the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
